Advanced Cytometry Facility

The Advanced Cytomety Facility (ACF) is a collaboration of the University of Sydney, the Centenary Institute and the Bosch Institute. It is a core resource facility for Cytometry and Cell Sorting, under the aegis of the Sydney Institutes of Health and Medical Research (SIHMR) and it serves the University campus and beyond.

The Facility is supported by academic and technical expertise and underpinned by cutting-edge instrumentation. A steering committee chaired by a senior University of Sydney academic oversees the operation of this resource partnership.

The ACF is committed to the continuing development and transfer of cytometry expertise and techniques and enhancing the role of cytometry as a major modality in biological/biomedical research. We aim to take current research to the next level of discovery and maintain our position on the cutting-edge through the ongoing search for the funding to support the people and instruments that make this possible.

Procedure for accessing ACF instrumentation

  1. Download and complete (i) New User/Project Form and (ii) Biosafety Form and return to facility staff (see below)
  2. Arrange a meeting with an facility academic to discuss project feasibility and agree on acknowledgment/collaboration arrangements
  3. Outcomes of meeting:-
    • another approach is recommended
    • hands on training is arranged
  4. Experiments can proceed after training is complete and biosafety approval is granted
